The Role of NIHR Office for Clinical Research Infrastructure (NOCRI) in Facilitating Links Between Researchers and Industry

The NIHR Office for Clinical Infrastructure (NOCRI) was set up to promote the NIHR to  the Life Sciences Industry and to help facilitate engagement between Industry, Academia and the NHS. The presentation will cover the NIHR in general, but with some specific focus on NIHR Infrastructure funded to work with Industry on developing MedTech and to help generate relevant clinical and cost-effectiveness evidence for NHS adoption.

In most cases navigating the R&D landscape in the UK is not easy and there is a real need within industry, particularly technology innovators, to engage with academics and clinicians at the earlier stages of technology development. This was recognised by the UK Department of Health and in response to MedTech industry requests they funded therapy specific centres of excellence. The presentation covers these and how MedTech innovators can engage with them.
